The Drifter

This personal work wants to be a love letter to one of my favorite games of all times; Hyper Light Drifter.
The whole process was an interesting learning experience and i've tried to push my skill forward in each of the creative phases. I took some time re-designing and modernizing some of the core design elements of the original pixel art character, i've tried to find a interesting way to stylize both sculpt and texturing (Wayfinder and Project Black for inspiration), and worked a lot in finding interesting poses and compositions for the beauty shots.
The final model is game-ready with about 50k triangles. The body uses 2 sets of 2k textures (body and capes are separate materials) + few smaller ones for the props. Final shots rendered in Marmoset 4.
